Welcome to Cold Coffee Studio
“Tom Gentis brilliantly captures the spirit of baseball in
his paintings of the greatest players and moments in the history of our national pastime”.
- Dan Cohen-Curator, Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory
Gentis taught himself to draw as a boy by copying cartoons out of Mad Magazine and popular comic books. His formal training began in high school and continued through college in Ohio. After graduation, Tom began a diverse career in the art field, fueling his passion for visual expression as a photographer, free-lance graphic designer, manager of an in-house graphic/print shop for a large manufacturer and as an art instructor.
In 1996, he opened Cold Coffee Studio in Norman, Oklahoma where he continues to work today as a free-lance artist.
Form, movement and emotion have always inspired the immensely talented Gentis. In fact, when viewing his impressive collection of portraits and sports paintings, one can see and feel the irrepressible human spirit emanating from each brush stroke. He skillfully embodies a compelling sense of realism in each painting, evoking passion, pride and a unique sense of personal presence.
Tom has been commissioned by prestigious companies, galleries, museums, as well as political, entertainment, and sports personalities. His work is currently featured and will remain in the Oklahoma Sports Museum as an integral part of their permanent collection. |
